Chestny ZNAK Labeling for 5 Rusagro Sites

Task / Issue

GC «Rusagro» had to implement mandatory labeling at 5 production sites and over 90 lines.

Products were released in different packaging formats, and the speed of individual lines reached 18,000 units per hour. Solutions had to be adapted for each form-factor, integrate inspection into the line and not increase operational costs.

Solution

We developed and implemented a labeling complex tailored to specific packaging types, line speeds, and print and read quality requirements.

Different solutions were used for various products: label printers, label applicator tandems, special piezo inkjet printers, polarization filters for better code reading, and custom rejection mechanisms.

Results
  • Over 90 lines equipped at oil and fat production sites
  • High-speed labeling up to 18,000 units per hour with no productivity loss
  • Printing costs reduced thanks to an industrial label preparation station
  • Automated defective product removal for incorrect labeling with no container overturning
  • System ready for expanded unit-level traceability to boxes and pallets

Technical details:

  1. For different packaging, individual scenarios were applied: from labeling complexes to piezo inkjet printing on the roll.
  2. Tandem labelers used for high-speed lines to minimize downtime when changing consumables.
  3. Camera images for code reading were optimized with polarization filters.
  4. Special integration with filling machines was done to avoid re-scanning rejects by weight or hermeticity.
